About

Kalee Quiñones is a screenwriter based in Los Angeles who specializes in thrillers, as well as slice-of-life dark comedies and romance stories. Her writing is often centered around complex female and queer characters. She grew up in hip college town Lawrence, Kansas where she wrote for the art center's black box theater, was a karaoke host, and worked at historical cornerstone Liberty Hall Video.

Kalee has written two pilot specs and is currently directing and producing an experimental queer sci-fi short she wrote, Blood Moon. She’s continued to sharpen her writing toolkit with classes like Robert McKee's Story Seminar and Script Anatomy's Televisionary. Her unique approach to character development stems from her acting background—she studied at Lee Strasberg in NYC and The Groundlings in LA.

Beyond screenwriting, Kalee works in post production. Her post experience includes Post Project Coordinating Xbox Showcase 2023, editing multiple shorts, and assistant editing award-winning projects like Saturn, What We've Become, and the Red Bird web series. When she's not developing character-driven narratives, you might find her seeking out weird rep screenings or watching French films with her cats.

Kalee is actively seeking representation and opportunities to join writer's rooms for thriller and dark comedy series.
